Snow, Snow, and More Snow!

We have had 4 snowstorms come through just in the month of October!! The fourth one was a real doozy! We got 12-14 inches of snow over two days. Caroline was already off track, but several school districts used up 2-3 snow days! Caroline was thrilled to finally have enough snow to go sledding. Sledding is something that Caroline and I enjoy doing together. Here are some pics of the kiddos over those couple of days!

The neighbor boys came out to play with us. They loved trying to knock Caroline off of her sled. So she and I invented the game "Boy Bowling." We figured if they wanted to knock her off the sled, she might as well take as many of the boys out as she could. The boys even came out the next day and asked if we could play "Bowling" again!
This is the first outing in the snow for Reagan and Luke. I didn't know what to expect since there was so much weeping, wailing and gnashing of teeth just getting the snow gear on them!

As soon as we sat Reagan down in the snow, she started crying the most heart-wrenching cry you have ever heard. She thought that being out in big, puffy clothes in the freezing cold was just about more than she could tolerate. Needless to say, she went right in after that!

Our house in in the snow! The little yellow dot in the picture is Luke. Grandad is shoveling our walk for us. ( Rich 's parents were visiting from Hilton Head, SC. They hadn't seen snow in 6 years! I think they got their snow fix for at least another 6!)

That Friday, we all went over to my parents' house for dinner. They have a hill in between their house and the next door neighbor. It was perfect for sledding. We didn't even attempt to torture Reagan by bringing her out again. Since, Luke loves the snow, my dad took him sledding!

Luke is coming down on the sled by himself. He loves it! He also LOVES eating snow. He calls it "ice cream."

Wow! Snow! If it's one thing I want to give my kids for Christmas is for them to see snow this year (plus, it's free ;)). We have our fingers crossed. I love the boy bowling idea. Boys are so silly.
